Details: Peppermint Ridge is an 8 hectare property set in the heart of beautiful Tynong North, West Gippsland - only 1 hour from Melbourne. The farm has sweeping panoramic views of Bunyip State Park and the first thing you will notice on arrival is the sweet smell of eucalyptus oil in the air from the Broad Leaf Peppermint Gums. The bush food spice garden is the result of 15 years research into Australian edible plants and those that will grow well in temperate Victorian conditions. The garden has over 30 edible native plants set in a tiered system to show each plant to its best advantage. Many of the plants are rare and not found in other gardens. We offer a guided tour of the garden that showcases the plants and tells their story. The farm offers a Taste–Learn– See experience that includes sampling tea infusions of some of these remarkable plants. The Bush Food Nursery is a must for garden lovers. It is usually stocked with most of the plants in the garden. Extended tours can be arranged to include the organic vegetable garden and in season an old world camellia and rhodendron garden is available for viewing. Morning/ Afternoon Teas and lunches available with prior booking. Coach parking is available. Accommodation: Self Contained or B&B - The Haven Country House (spa & log fire) Sleeps 6, Cornucopia Cottage Sleeps 4.
