Details: The four hectare ornamental garden (established in 1957) and purpose built show hall is near Sherbrook Forrest at an elevation of 500 metres. The cool climate, abundant rainfall and rich volcanic soil create ideal growing conditions for a wide range of plants. The western side of the garden has large Mountain Ash and many fine deciduous trees under planted with Rhododendrons, Camellias, Magnolias and Azaleas. The east side of the hall there is a magnificent planting of Proteas, Waratahs and Gondwanda Land Shrubs and trees along with a Heather garden and varieties of South African Ericas. The garden is open to the public during Shows and for Special Interest Groups by appointment.
